Board Member and Secretary
Since 2022.
Growing up, I never considered a research career. In fact, I did not realise that this was a possible career until I started my undergraduate degree. This is why I love being part of the Penne initiative, which connects scientists and students through a pen pal exchange to demystify the role of scientists and bring science closer to children in public schools.
Today, we reach more than 300 classes and more than 6000 children every year!
At the Penne, I am responsible for coordinating recruitment, social media and communication, which involves creating nice data visualisations, communication strategies and website development. Take a look!
Board member and panel organiser

Have you ever received an email advertising a conference or workshop, only to realise that all of the speakers are men? Familiar, right? The Women in Neuroscience Repository aims to solve this problem and prevent people from ever saying, 'No women are working on this topic!'
WiN Repo helps you to identify and recommend female neuroscientists for conferences, symposia, and collaborations, thereby reducing women's underrepresentation in neuroscience.
I had the pleasure of joining the WiN Repo board in 2024, and over the years I have organised online webinars and roundtables to discuss the current needs and challenges faced by women working in (neuro)science.
Event organizer and facilitator.
Since 2023
Every year, the Human Brain Mapping Organisation invites neuroscientists to organise online activities for children aged 8–15 to discuss science with them in their native language.
Since 2023, my brilliant colleague Dr Isotta Rigoni and I have decided to organise these events in person. We travel back to northern Italy and visit primary schools to discuss the neuroscience of memory and language.
Over the years, we have engaged with hundreds of children, hopefully inspiring some of them to become our future colleagues.
The materials are openly available, and if you are an Italian primary school teacher and would like us to visit, get in touch!
